l do not drink a lot of pop, but lately l have been having these cravings for pop and Energy drinks. l was thinking for the month of October that l would not drink pop and energy drinks and see how that goes because for one that is just a lot of sugar to have. Do you think that is a good thing to try or should l try something else? l was going to drink milk and water.

The best ways to cut out pop and energy drinks

Have you tried drinking black or green teas? They can give you a pretty good kick and theyre much better for you of course. Try either, shaken with ice and a little Splenda! Also, I would try cutting back slowly.like subtracting 1 a week then 2 and then to the point where you are drinking none. But try the tea!

My easy answer.cut back on cokes, and replace them with something else, like tea, then drink more water, gradually cut back on your sugar and caffeine intake. Kill the energy drinks totally. Try using half-caff coffee for awhile.

Do not go cold turkey on caffeine, go slowly, you might get sick otherwise.

As a recovering pop junkie I have some advice.

DO NOT try & quit cold turkey! You will get massive withdrawal headaches & may even get sick.

There r several approaches that u could try.

If u have good will power u can try & limit yourself to a certain amount of pop a day (tell yourself u r going to have ''x'' number of cans a day). Say u r going to have 4 cans a day for one week. Then, the next week try 3 a day, then the next week try 2 a day, then the next week try 1 a day, & then slowly start spacing the interval out on the 1 a day into 1 every 2 days, 1 every 3 days, etc. This can take some time, but it SLOWLY weans it out of ur system.

Another method involves the diet version of ur drink of choice. Say u r drinking regular Dr. Pepper.Try mixing Diet Dr. Pepper into ur regular Dr. Pepper slowly. Start by pouring 3/4 of a glass of Dr. Pepper & adding 1/4 a glass of Diet Dr. Pepper. Eventually over a few weeks, u will end up replacing the Dr. Pepper with Diet Dr. Pepper. While, the diet versions of soda r really not that much better than the regular versions, u can still get ur ''soda fix''.

Yet another method involves diluting ur favorite soda over time with water. Much like the Regular/Diet method, u will end up completely diluting ur regular soda with water. Water is much healthier than soda & will be a good choice.

Finally, do not cut soda/energy drinks out of ur system completely, it will be very hard. Right now, I can go a whole week without a soda. Because of that, I ''reward'' myself once a week with a Dr. Pepper or Coke. I do not crave the soda as much, & I do not get the headaches either.

Try to slowly wean yourself off of it. If you just quit drinking soda and energy drinks, you will have horrible caffeine withdrawl.
