How healthy are these drinks?A lot of the time, when l drink these, l get a stomachache.Why is that?This is kinda random, but l just drank some and l feel ready to throw up.
l do not know if it makes a difference, but l just got back from working out.Would that have an effect?

Well, in my opinion Gatorade & Powerade can be kind of be on the good & bad side. I know their good as far as replenishing salts, sugars, & carbohydrates when ur working out, but on the other hand u really should not drink them unless u really need them. I used to drink those types of drinks all of the time until I got heartburn which caused me to stop drinking them. So I think these drinks can be beneficial in one way, (using them in the correct way) but they can be rather harmful in another way.

Note: The reason why u get a stomachache or feel nauseated is because both Gatorade & Powerade both have a high amount of acids in them.

Check the ingredients. You may be alergic to something in it. Something like this happened to my mom a while back. She was taking calcium supplements that made her feel sick, but then she found out they had shelfish in them (go figure) which she is alergic to.

If you just got back from working out, you might be fairly dehydrated. When dehydrated, drink slowly. Drinking anything too fast can make you vomit.

They are ok if you are an athlete, as they hydrate the body but also contain carbohydrates ( sugar ) to keep up the energy levels. Other thing they add is sodium and potassium as these are excreted from body in sweat and need to be replaced which ordinary water does not do. However unless you are a heavy exerciser water will suffice . The stomachache might be from the colouring and preservatives they put inside .

The drinks are designed to replace the electrolytes and salts lost during strenuous exercise. They are ''healthier'' than soft drinks, but water is better if you have not been sweating alot.

well they are good for athletes. if you drink gatorade and powerade and just sit on the couch and your not sweating or anything it will do nothing for you. athletes drink it because it helps hydrate them after they have been running & sweating and such.
